In case you missed it... of the day

The original YouTube video was disabled by CBS, but it's back up (for now at least). Just skip to 40 seconds in and enjoy the epicness that is Stephen Colbert singing everyone's favorite song "Friday"! This honestly shames Rebecca Black.

Cheers to Colbert!

Get out and Vote!

Voter apathy has long been a problem in Canadian elections. Last election, in 2008, only 58.8% of eligible voters actually cast a ballot (and that counts the ones who spoiled their ballots!) So I was thinking about what sort of things Canadian politicians might do to get voters into booths nationwide.
It appears the only thing that can get bored Canadians excited about voting is a really good controversial topic... I figured, since we haven't rioted much since prohibition... I'd try to rile you up a bit...

The easiest way I can spark some interest in you is probably a really provocative image... CLICK HERE!
If that doesn't remind you why the Harper Government should be questioned, then I don't know what will.

Cheers to Canadian Apathy. Remember that last election, 21% of the country spoke for 100% of Canadians. Let's get it right this year!

P.S. If these paragraphs and pictures didn't help you want to vote, then let Rick Mercer convince you:

It's all innocent until you realize ...

...he's just chucking rocks at Maritimers!

Ignatieff toured Eastern Canada recently with a very clear message to Maritimers, "Harper does not respect Atlantic Canada." The vibe out east is that Harper just doesn't speak for the population and his Albertan heritage has him taking the Maritime Provinces for granted.
Iggy through some epic quotes out there with my personal favorite being "Let me just say something here. I want to make a deal with Mr. Harper: If you stop telling lies about us, we will stop telling the truth about you.” (Followed by a quite muttering of "Oh Snap!")

So the campaigns heat up and we've got an interesting couple of weeks ahead of us. Meanwhile, if you're thinking of voting Conservative but are concerned about the effects of re-electing a cyborg, here's a website that might help:
Things Stephen Harper Does To Seem Human

Cheers to Canadian politics...we really don't take this seriously.

Grandma gets even!

Picture
Who knew that grandma has such creativity? That's right, in her extra decades on this planet she's learned a few things about getting even. Bernie shows her children who's boss by blowing their inheritance on creative ads in national magazines.

Cheers to evil grannies, they are simply awesome!

Apologies and Excuses!

I've been away from the computer for a while and haven't touched the site. Sorry for that. It's been a busy week with school work and such and I haven't had much time for the blog. I promise I'll be back in full swing in the following week. In the mean time, since I missed Caturday and didn't want to also miss Sundog...here's both at once:

More content on it's way this week. Promise :)

Cheers to life getting in the way of screwin' around!

It's nearly that time again:

Show your support:

Last chance to pledge up for the hour. It's just a few hours away now that the world expects you to knock-off the computer, turn out the lights and kick back to some people powered entertainment. If you're the type who still thinks, "EarthHour isn't big enough to make any impact..." Check out this video from HongKong:
Cheers to all the Canadians showing their support with us tonight. Just remember...it's a Saturday... Unplug the TV, grab a beer and some friends, and enjoy some old fashioned fun!

Making you feel old!...of the day

Picture
It's a Vulcan salute to Leonard Nimoy who turns 80 today. It's been a long time since his days on StarTrek ended in 1969. Born  March 26, 1931, Nimoy is an American actor, film director, poet, musician and photographer. His roles are vast and his abilities seem limitless. If you aren't a Trekkie and you don't love his voice-overs on the The Simpsons, I bet there's still an abundance of things you might like about this guy.

Cheers to men who live a dozen lives before they pass!

The issue with "Live" television...

Well it's not nearly as bad as most of what we're used to seeing on the nightly newses. We have all gotten used to listening to the Bill O'Reillys and the Glen Becks of the word so nonsensical remarks on live TV are so 2009... but Canada has it's own flavour. Recently a reporter for Global said some incomprehensible things on-air during a live broadcast. Now I give him credit for not just spewing lies and nonsense like the aforementioned, his issues were strictly the results of medical problems.

Watching the video you'd almost expect this to be an incredible case of stage fright, but reporter Mark McAllister claims this is the result of a medical condition. He became very disoriented and couldn't get out a clear sentence. According to the Star "Paramedics were immediately called to the scene", McAllister was "fully checked out" and planed to "pursue this matter with his doctor".

The Toronto Star reported:
"A Global News Toronto reporter is feeling better after letting loose a stream of Serene Branson-esque gibberish on air Monday night.
During a segment on strife in Libya, cameras turned to reporter Mark McAllister who began speaking about defence minister Peter MacKay. But in videos of the episode posted on the Internet, McAllister can be seen quickly losing his way and falling into a stream of garbled sentences."

According to McAllister's Twitter, he is feeling much better and should be back in action without issue ASAP.

Cheers to Mark McAllister, we wish him the very best and we hope he's doing well. He should be back on the air shortly.
