How are you enjoying the new Facebook layout? Still avoiding clicking on the button for fear of change? Well here's an idea that was had by French artist Alexandre Oudin. The profile page allowed him to flex his artistic muscles (Far as I can tell they are located just behind your eyes) and he came up with this Magritte-inspired collage.

Anyone who wants to try this is free to upload pictures that are the exact pixel resolution as they display on the page, block the photos you are tagged in, and upload your own set. (Or, you can just enjoy this image and pass this article along... it's the lazy choice, but it's the right choice!)

Cheers to thinking outside the box, and into multiple cleverly designed boxes adjacent...

A short while back one of my favorite companies put together an initiative to help the world suck a little less. This company has always been a leader in innovation both in their product, and in society. The idea of the initiative was that we might be able to make people do better things, if we made those things more fun to do. Simple, I know.

The company, Volkswagen; The initiative, The Fun Theory.

Here's a taste:

Todays little bit of awesome comes from YouTuber Sp0ntanius. This rendition of Majora's Mark played on wine glasses shows us that there really isn't anything that wine doesn't make better! (Except for driving...don't drink and drive) But watch this video!:
Cheers to making no small effort in the fight against a boring existence. Tha

If only there was a God, Putin would have climb onto the stage and starting playing "Putin on the Ritz"! His actual performance was quite spectacular all-the-same. After being begged by organizers of the charity function, Putin finally gave in to the pressure and told everyone that he would sing for the children.  "Like the majority of people I cannot -- but do like to sing and to play -- so you'll have to rough it," he warned as he sat at the piano and played the beginning of Blueberry Hill. The song went on for only a short while before a Jazz band, lead by Maceo Parker, took up the tune. Putin and others than began to sing the song for the delighted audience.

This isn't the first time the PM takes to the stage, but usually it's for empowering speeches or the occasional how-do-you-do at luncheons. I believe that more world leaders should embrace the media and have some fun...maybe governments wouldn't be so stuck-up and war happy!

Many spectators caught the act on their phones, but RT has the real footage and is available on YouTube and right here on Memento Mori:

Cheers to a government with a sense of humour, and people's willingness to do just about anything for charity!

What? No Cheezeburger?
This story was too good to pass up! In Springfield Illinois, this Thursday night, a man was pulled over for speeding in his '97 Grand Prix. The officer asked the man to step from the car and wait while the officer took a look at the interior of the vehicle.

When the officer asked the driver if their was anything illicit in the vehicle the driver reacted very nervously. It wasn't long before the cop noticed the bottles of booze and the digital scale in the vehicle... when the officer asked the driver what the scale was used for the driver bolted.

The officer took pursuit on foot at which point the, now fugitive, driver turned around and hit the officer in the face with...what else?... a cheeseburger! (And this is why we love the Americans...not every crime is violent; sometimes they are just comical and stereotypical)

After receiving the burger to the face the police officer stunned the driver with a taser and took him into custody.

Cheers to crime that may not pay off for the criminal, but keeps the rest of us entertained!

Yup! It's Caturday! I just wanted to share the joy with everyone and remind you that Saturday continues to be our best viewed day! We set a record last Saturday by bringing viewers from all over the world to the site. It's just a matter of time before we can check off all the continents (If you know anyone in Australia or Antarctica... send'em a link!). We at Memento Mori are so pleased to have such a wide audience and you guys truly make it worth spending so many hours behind this screen! (Remember, the more emails, comments, Facebook shares, and Tweets we get, the more content get's generated and the more fun we'll all have with this)

Here's to hoping that this Saturday we smash the record and break the 500 views in a day mark!
A huge cheers to all of you guys who make this real. Remember, life is what you make of it, and it's up to you to choose awesome!

2010. What can we say about 2010. For one thing, it marks the end of one helluva crap decade! Flood where there was no water before; Droughts where there was plenty. Running out of oil for our cars; Too much oil on our beaches. War between nations with weapons; Peace between countries unarmed and incapable of fighting. Death to the celebrities we loved; Mel Gibson is still alive...    (Wooo! Too far!)

So all in all this year wasn't that great. Most of the big things we wanted to get done failed (we broke the Large Hadron Collider), and many of the projects we didn't want to see completed were over in record time (Your welcome national banks! How about some of that trickle down economics you greedy old bastards...) We kinda bullocked up the whole year...
On the bright side though, it makes for a great clipshow over at Google HQ, so let's all tune in and watch the future rulers of the world amuse us :

All hail the almighty Google!
I mean cheers, to saying goodbye to 2010, and not a moment too soon!

You may not have heard it, but long-time friend of the blog (and inhabitant of the LoLvo) Dead Fred has recently done some cameo work for a fantastic YouTube video! It's always been Dead Fred's dream of being cast in a YouTube vid, ever since he was Little Deady Freddy; It wasn't a terribly large part in the movie...more of a flash cameo.

Try to see if you can spot him!

And when you're done, check out Josh's channel on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/joshsaltzman

Cheers to small media making us laugh; YouTubers are made of awesome!

Google, it's the real G-Spot! (I don't think they'll use that slogan...ever)

Alright, so it's not a real story... but it's still awesome! Google has often been the leader in mapping the contents of the world and making a digital imprint on our lives. Recently the ability of real people to harness the power of Google Maps and write reviews based on location has been hijacked by some incredibly creative people.

Google, it's the real G-Spot! (I don't think they'll use that slogan...ever)

Thinking of visiting Area 51? Might want to think twice, I hear the customer service is terrible!

Here's a fun video of WhiskyGuyD and friends taking 5 on lunch in London Ontario.

The video is pretty dumb, but I for one found it amusing. Hope you enjoy it :P
